A few likely questions about Brancaster

Why “Brancaster Town” ? —  That distinguishes us from our good friends, the neighbouring village of Brancaster Staithe. (You will find a similar distinction between Overy Town and Overy Staithe, along the coast a little way from here.)

And Branodunum ? — That's our Roman name.  The Romans have all gone now, and there's little to show from their time here other than the site of their Saxon Shore fort —— what have the Romans ever done for us? —— but we like that link with the past.

And where exactly?  — See the  map-bttn.gif (1078 bytes)

What services and amenities are on offer in and around Brancaster?  —

What sort of place is Brancaster? —  It’s another delightful Norfolk village, set on a coast of sandy beaches, dunes and saltmarsh, with splendid holiday and leisure facilities all around.   .    .    .
